If there was any property damage caused by the contract with Finmeccanica, such responsibility lies on the Juan Carlos Varela´s Government´s shoulders.
So asserted the former Minister of Public Security, Jose Raul Mulino, in reaction to the meeting that the President held in Italy with the directors of Finmeccanica aimed to receive a helicopter ambulance from the mentioned transnational corporation.
Mulino, in interview with Telemetro Reporta, said that the payments to Finmeccanica, for an amount of 68 million dollars, were made in Juan Carlos Varela´s administration, which shows that the previous Government did not receive any bribes around this contract.
"There could not be bribes because there was no payment made in our administration," said Mulino as he urged the President to tell the truth.
"I only need to ask Juan Carlos Varela is to tell the truth", said José Raul Mulino, while also stating that the Government decided to avoid the clause of the arbitration to put a file together at the Public Ministry that cost him six months of detention.
"It was a hoax that took me six months of freedom ruining a piece of my life, a very, very personal piece of me and making my family suffer, which is why it is taking me a lot not to feel revenge or hatred", said Mulino, pointing out that he does not rule out a civil action against those who put together this file against him.
Mulino is waiting that a recourse to annul a double judgment is resolved, since there is a court ruling that supersedes him definitely based on a complaint that was filed by a leader of the Partido Popular in this case of Finmeccanica. Mulino said that divine justice has started to work, following the resignation of his successor Rodolfo Aguilera...
