Mulino denounces pressure, after Court ruled in his favor

The existence of a sentence favoring former Minister of Security, José Raúl Mulino, at the Second Higher Court of Justice, has generated pressures in that instance of the Judiciary branch.

The report was revealed by Mulino himself in his Twitter account, after obtaining information in the sense that the pressures are due to the fact that his case sets a legal precedent that would cause all other processes against previous government officials to suffer the same fate of being declared null in Court.

Recently, the Second Higher Court of Justice ruled one of two legal appeals in the case of the radars, which involves former Minister Mulino and  former Secretary of the Security Council, Alejandro Garuz, for which precautionary measures were granted other than pre-trial detention in favor of both former officials.

Now this same court must resolve the appeal on nullity of the proceedings against Mulino and Garuz, who the Fifth Judge of Criminal Circuit, Enrique Paniza, will issue.

"They are trying to force the interpretation of the law," said Mulino, explaining that the nullity of the radars process occurs because Prosecutor Zuleyka Moore investigated outside the prescribed term in blatant violation of the due process.

This same situation has arisen in the rest of the processes that are being managed for other former officials.

In the midst of this situation, Mulino´s lawyers filed an incident of controversy against the criminal arrangement of 22 April 2016 issued by the Second Anti-Corruption Attorney of the Attorney General, seeking to initiate a different pre-trial stage for the same investigation already in progress in the case of the former official, action which violates the law.
